Searching for fireworks in or around Atlanta in 2023? Plan your Fourth of July holiday with this list of free and cheap July 4th events. These events include fireworks, parades, live music, and festivals. They are spread out from Saturday, July 1st to Tuesday, July 4th, 2023.

Make sure to check the date, because many are not on the 4th. The list is in random order (sorry!) but we’ve indicated with red text any dates other than the actual 4th of July.

This recreated version of the annual fireworks in downtown is a ticketed event now. It includes food trucks, live entertainment, activities, and a VIP upgrade option. Tickets start at $10.

Back after a 2-year hiatus!
Featuring a kids’ bike parade, free summer concert, and fireworks in Keswick Park. Parking is limited there, so click thru the link for more info.
Decatur fireworks, band concert, and parade
Monday July 4, 2022.
Admission is FREE.
Anyone can join in the Pied Piper Parade — just be ready to line-up by 5:30 p.m. in your festive attire. The parade is followed by a band concert. Then, fireworks will launch from the courthouse parking deck, beginning around 9 p.m.
Avondale Estates concert and fireworks

Food trucks begin serving at 6 p.m. The concert starts at 8 p.m. and fireworks begin after dark.

Fantastic Fourth at Stone Mountain Park
This week-long celebration runs from July 1st to July 5th, 2022. The Lasershow begins at dusk, with fireworks directly afterward. Stone Mountain will put on the same spectacular display each night for that whole week. The Lasershow and fireworks are no longer free. You can buy a general admission ticket for lawn seating for $10 and you’ll also have to pay $20 for parking, unless you’ve purchased a $40 parking pass.
If you want to spend the entire day at Stone Mountain Park, you can currently get an Attractions Pass for just $19.99 on Groupon — but note that July 3rd and 4th are blackout dates. The pass is not valid on those two days of the celebration.

Red, White, and BOOM! in Norcross

5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Come to this festive block party in downtown Norcross for fun and fireworks! There will be assorted food vendors in addition to the local downtown merchants. Kids’ activities include face painting, bounce houses, and more. Some activities may have a slight fee, but admission to the event and fireworks are FREE.
Duluth’s Kickoff to the 4TH

The city will no longer hold its annual Duluth Celebrates America event (see the press release here).
In its place, Duluth will host Kickoff to the 4th, as part of its Fridays-n-Duluth series of events. There will be food trucks, live music on multiple stages, face painting, a photo booth, and more.

Stars & Stripes Celebration at City Springs
Monday, July 4, 2022, from 6 to 10:30 p.m.,
FREE to attend. Food trucks begin serving at 6 p.m. Live music at 7:30. Fireworks begin around 9:30. Bring a blanket or chairs and pack a picnic meal — but no outside alcohol is allowed. No pets, please.

Independence Day with the Braves
Celebrate Independence Day 2022 with the home team!
The Braves will take on the Cardinals during a game series from July 4th to 6th.
On Monday, July 4th, there will be fireworks after the game.
Independence Day with the Gwinnett Stripers
On Monday, July 4th, there will be fireworks after the game, as the Stripers take on the Charlotte Knights. You can also purchase a special pre-game BBQ meal. The Stripers will wear special patriotic jerseys for the game, and they will be available for purchase via online auction at GoStripers.com. Dunwoody Fourth of July Parade

Parade starts at 9 a.m. and follows a route down Mount Vernon Rd from Jett Ferry to Dunwoody Village. FREE to attend.
The Dunwoody Fourth of July Parade began in 1976 as part of the nation’s bicentennial celebration. It is said to be Georgia’s largest parade taking place on July 4th. (photo for illustration purposes only.)
Roswell’s annual Fireworks Extravaganza

The event runs from 6 to 10:30 p.m. and takes place at Roswell Area Park. Food trucks begin serving at 5:00; live music performances take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:30 p.m. but this may be adjusted earlier or later, depending on the weather. No pets. No alcohol.

Acworth’s 4th of July concert and fireworks in Cauble Park

The event takes place at Acworth Beach in Cauble Park. The FREE concerts begin at 5:30 p.m. and there will be fireworks over Lake Acworth, beginning around 9:30 p.m. This is said to be one of the largest displays in Cobb County.
Kennesaw’s Salute to America

This is a family-friendly festival. From 6 to 10 p.m., enjoy live music, street entertainment, food vendors, and activities for children. At 9:30 p.m., head over to Adams Park, Depot Park, or Main Street to watch the fireworks display.
At noon, there is a children’s parade that anyone can join in — just register online in advance.

Join the City of Peachtree City for its annual Independence Day Parade and fireworks. The parade begins at Village on the Green, travels up the Peachtree Parkway, and ends at Mcintosh Trail Recreation Center. The fireworks will take place over Lake Peachtree, and will begin at dusk. The festival isn’t happening this year.

Fireworks in the Fourth Ward
On July 4, 2019, from 5 to 11 p.m. you can enjoy an intown celebration at Historic Fourth Ward Park. The event is FREE and open to the public. There will be over 20 food trucks, live bands, and fireworks coordinated to a music soundtrack. We’re told fireworks don’t have a set time, but will start some time after the sun sets (and sunset is at 8:51 p.m. on the Fourth, according to weather.com). Family-friendly and FREE.
Fireworks on the Fourth in East Atlanta Village
Thursday, July 4th at 9:30 p.m. in front of Holy Taco, 1314 Glenwood. This is a professional fireworks show that is sponsored by community association East Atlanta Strut, as well as several of the local businesses in and around EAV. The local eateries and bars will be open for business.
Star Spangled Fourth at Mall of Georgia
This is nearly an all-day event on July 4, 2019, running from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. There’s a Kids Zone, live music from several bands, and fireworks scheduled to begin around 9:40 p.m. After the fireworks, you can stick around for an outdoor showing of Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Drag Racing and Fireworks at Atlanta Motor Speedway
Thursday, July 4th, starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are just $10 at the gate for this July 4th Thursday night edition of Friday Night Drag Racing. Atlanta Motor Speedway is located in Hampton, Georgia, just 25 miles south of Atlanta. Come for the races; stay for the fireworks after dark.
