After that, get ready for a festive street festival.
You’ll find bounce houses, giant slides, street performers, contests and more!
The street festival will begin immediately following the parade on S. Avondale Road between Clarendon and Kensington and will go on until 1 p.m.
Meet your favorite characters from the parade, and enjoy the Scout Troop 6’s annual hot dogs along with Kona Ice and other festive food options.
There is limited parking in the downtown area of Avondale Estates, so you’re encouraged to walk, bike, carpool, or use a ride share service.
Unfortunately, there will be no fireworks this year.
According to a press release, the city will not be allowed to have a fireworks show in the foreseeable future due to the lack of an acceptable public location that passes safety guidelines under state law.
