Know before you go…
Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. You can have a tent or pop-up canopy during your picnic time, but you must take it down at sunset (which is at 8:51 p.m. on the Fourth) so you’re not blocking anyone’s view of the fireworks.
You may also want to bring a flashlight, bug spray, and bottled water
Alcohol and tobacco are prohibited in the park, per city ordinance.
Grilling will be a hassle — charcoal is prohibited, and propane grills require a permit from city hall.
Personal fireworks are prohibited — and this includes sparklers.
Pets are discouraged because of the noise, but if you bring a dog, s/he must be leashed at all times.
