Georgia State Parks are continuing the New Year tradition with ranger-led hikes on January 1st and 2nd.
Capacity is limited this year and you must reserve a spot in advance — no walk-ups allowed.
We’ve put together a list of the State Parks closest to Atlanta that are offering free or cheap hikes this year.

Want to take a hike on your own, without driving to a state park? Head to the Peachtree Creek Greenway. We also love the walking trail around the lake at Murphey Candler Park, in Dekalb County.
