Duluth launches Frosty Fun — 16 days of amazing & FREE winter activities for all ages

There will be a flurry of activity in downtown Duluth this winter season, as the city launches an ambitious calendar of Frosty Fun — with activities starting on Saturday, November 22, 2025 and extending to the New Year.
The events are spread out around the downtown area, including Parsons Alley, the Activity Lawn, and the Duluth Town Green.
Almost everything is FREE to attend.
Note that a few events (not many) require advance registration and a small fee, so scroll thru the schedule below and get that taken care of ASAP!

With thrilling winter-themed games like snowball toss and holiday-themed races, it’s a day packed with action. Gather your own team of eight for only $30 or join as a free agent for $5 and be matched with others to form a team.

Enjoy visits with the Grinch and other Who-Ville characters, plus games, music, crafts, and temporary tattoos for all ages.
Monday, Dec. 22
Movie at the Red Clay
Enjoy the heartwarming animated film Abominable! Doors open at 2:30 PM, and the movie begins at 3:00 PM. This free event is first come, first served, so arrive early to grab a good seat.

Axe Throwing + Ice Carving
Head over to Parsons Alley to witness the artistry of Live Ice Carving, starting at 3 PM. Watch as skilled artisans transform blocks of ice into a stunning creation right before your eyes. Once the carving is complete, don’t miss the chance to snap some photos with the beautiful sculpture. Then, enjoy an afternoon of FREE Axe Throwing and live music from 3 to 6 PM.

Frosty Chalk Art

Watch professional artists bring Town Green to life with colorful creations, join in the community chalk area, and enjoy live music and winter cheer

Noon Years Eve
Enjoy crafts, activities, themed photo opps, and a special countdown to a drop at 12 noon.

Great American Kids Show
4 p.m.
Main Stage on the Town Green
An interactive show packed with music, comedy, and fun for all ages! Kids will get the chance to appear on stage, sing, dance, and laugh along with Rick. The first 300 kids will receive a FREE Kazoobie Kazoo to join the Grand Finale Kazoo Band

Frosty Finale
3 to 6 p.m.
Celebrate the last day of winter break with family-friendly activities, live music, crafts, story times, bubbles, and more.
