Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier Islands has been renamed: It’s now Lanier Islands Christmas, and per Lake Lanier Islands, it’s “twice the fun & half the price.”
Admission to Lanier Islands Christmas is regularly $30/car (1-9 passengers), $50 for vans (10-19 passenger capacity), & $150 for buses (20+ passenger capacity)–This is 50% off last year’s rate for cars, a little less for vans & busses. Admission includes the tour of lights, access to the Holiday Village, free skating after 5pm at the Polar Rink presented by Coca-Cola, & the Live Nativity (on select nights). If you do plan to play on the carnival rides in the Holiday Village, $20/person buys an Unlimited Carnival Rides pass. Bonus: Through November 30, 2014, if you bring a canned good donation for the Georgia Mountain Food Bank, you can exchange it for a carnival ticket at the front gate; limit four tickets per car.
And you can save a bit, thanks to a deal on Star94: Coupon code “STAR” will save you $5/carload when you buy tickets online, or you can text “SNOW” to 51539 to get the same deal.
Lanier Islands Christmas is open daily from 5:oo p.m.-10:00 p.m. through December 31, 2014.
FYI–If you do stop in the Holiday Village, be sure to bring supplies to make s’mores by the fire. You can buy them on site, but the DIY version is much cheaper.
While you’re there, you can check out SnowWorld. Open daily from 5:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., SnowWorld includes snow slides, snow tubing, speed slides, skating, & more. Admission is $34.99 for adults (42″+) & $24.99 for children (under 42″), seniors (age 55+), & military with ID. Season passes are also available.
