After work on every Wednesday during June, you can skip the gridlock and hang out at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta to listen to Wednesday WindDown concerts.
From 5:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. each week, there’ll be live music at the Southern Company Amphitheater. Here’s the lineup for the 2017 season:
June 7: Prince Tribute ShowJune 14: Butta B-Rocka and FriendsJune 21: Xavier Lewis R&B ExplosionJune 28: Grand Finale Show: Artists TBA
FYI #1: Though this used to be a free concert series, Wednesday WindDown is now a ticketed event. Tickets for most shows are $5 each, and they may be purchased online in advance or at the box office on the day of the show.
FYI #2: Though Wednesday WindDown typically happens from June through September, for 2017, the concert series will only take place in June due to renovation projects slated to begin in July.
Plan to bring a low-back chair or a blanket to lounge in the grass and pack a picnic to make it a night out on the cheap. Beverages may be brought in sealed, unopened containers; no glass. Be sure to check the list of prohibited & permitted item before you go.
The Southern Co. Amphitheater is located at 265 Park Ave W NW, Atlanta.
