Great news! Atlanta’s Christkindl Market returns in 2023. This German-style street festival and holiday market is one of our favorite events here at Atlanta on the Cheap. It is FREE to attend.
The market will open for a preview before Thanksgiving — from Friday, Nov. 17th to Sunday, Nov. 19th.
It will then open for good on Friday, Nov. 24th and run through Christmas Eve.
Once again, the Christkindl Market takes place at Buckhead Village shopping district, around the corner of Buckhead Avenue and North Fulton Drive. In previous years the quaint German village was set up at Centennial Olympic Park and at Atlantic Station.

Christkindl Market is the city’s largest winter festival. It features a German Christmas village with 80 vendor booths that are fashioned as Bavarian-style wooden chalets. It is FREE to attend — just bring your wallet to shop and eat.
You can enjoy authentic German food and beverages — including Glühwein, hot chocolate, spiced cider, pretzels, schnitzel, bratwurst, and more.
The market is a great place to shop for holiday gifts, or to add holiday decor items to your own collection. You’ll find ornaments, nutcrackers, traditional beer steins, and toys.

Paid parking is available in any of the Buckhead Village District parking decks.
The closest parking deck is right around the corner from the market at 262 Buckhead Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.
There is another deck at 709, 250 Pharr Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.
There is also street parking available on Pharr Road.

We’ve just learned about the Buc Shuttle!
If you take MARTA to either Buckhead Station or Lenox Station, you can get a FREE ride to Christkindl Market via The Buc.
How did we not know about this till now?
On-demand, shared rides are free to and from the Buckhead and Lenox MARTA stations, and $3 anywhere else within the Buckhead service zone.
The shuttle gives MARTA riders an easy option for getting from the train station to key destinations.
