Bring your pets to the downtown Decatur square and snap a photo with Santa Thursday, November 16, 2023.
Furry, feathered, or scaly — all are welcome, and each pet category will have its own time slot.
This is a do-it-yourself photo opp — so come prepared with a camera, mobile device, extra set of hands, or whatever you’ll need to capture that holiday memory.
This event is FREE and open to the community.
All pets must be well-behaved, properly restrained, and up-to-date with vaccinations.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This appears to be an outdoor event, so PLEASE take precautions not to lose your pet. You might think it can’t happen, but it can. Any animal who becomes startled or frightened can take off running and become displaced in an unfamiliar location.
We’re especially nervous for our kitty friends.
Please consider carefully whether or not your cat can handle the stress of this event, and whether the risk of escape is worth it, to take your cat out of its carrier in an outdoor setting.
Of course, it’s possible the event organizers have considered all this and have erected some sort of tent or cabin.
We expect to be posting more free pet photos in the next few weeks, and many will be indoors.
Santa’s schedule: when to bring your pet
6 pm – Feline Fiesta
Bring your purr-fect companions to meet Santa Claus.
CATS ONLY from 6-7 pm
7 pm – Exotic Extravaganza
For those with exotic pets, this hour is dedicated to you!
From parrots to pythons, all exotic animals are welcome.
8 pm – Canine Carnival
Fido’s turn! Head over with your pup to meet Santa.
DOGS ONLY 8-9 pm.
