The Atlanta 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb takes place on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Mercedes Benz Stadium in downtown Atlanta.
This is a ceremonial event dedicated to honoring the brave first responders and workers in the Twin Towers, who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001.
Want to participate?
Here’s what you need to know.
Starting at 7 a.m., you’ll join others in climbing 110 stories — that’s 2,071 stair steps — from the stadium field into the stands. This symbolizes the height of the Twin Towers.
Doors open at 6:30 a.m.
At 7 a.m., there will be a short program that begins with a moment of silence, followed by guest speakers and a presentation of the colors.
The climb starts after the program, allowing you to experience a small fraction of the endurance and courage demonstrated by our first responders.
If you’d like to join in the climb, you’ll need to register online.
Note that only those 16 and older may participate.
With your registration, you’ll also need to agree to a liability and risk waiver, which releases the event organizers from liability if you are injured at the event.
