Below the spotlighted events, you’ll find a day-by-day listing of March events.
Free museum days
• The High Museum Art hosts its Second Sundays FREE day on March 14, 2021. You’ll have to reserve in advance.

• The Museums On Us program offers free admission to Bank of America cardholders at four metro-area museums on March 6th and 7th. This includes the High Museum, Tellus Museum, Atlanta History Center, and Center for Civil & Human Rights.

• While not really a museum, the LegoLand Discovery Center is offering FREE admission for grocery store workers. The offer is good Monday, Thursday, and Friday, through March 19, 2021.

Daffodils, cherry blossoms, and more spring flowers
You’ll see daffodils everywhere in March, and the peak depends on the weather conditions in any given year.
However, two annual daffodil celebrations really stand out:
♦ Daffodil Days at Oakland Cemetery (FREE!)
♦ Daffodil Colorfest at Gibbs Gardens

Atlanta Science Festival
March 13 – 27, 2021

NOTE: The 2021 festival looks amazing! It’s been designed around outdoor, self-guided, and virtual events.
Each year, the Atlanta Science Festival is hosts close to 100 dynamic events, spread across Atlanta and the suburbs. Many are FREE, although some have a small charge. The events are designed for all age groups and all interests, making science fun.
Family-friendly events include outdoor scavenger hunts and discovery walks.
While the festival events are FREE, many require pre-registration and have limited space — so browse the listing and RSVP NOW!

Dinosaur Drive-Thru
March 13 – 28, 2021
Six Flags White Water
Fun in the age of Covid means a safe drive-thru event!
The adventure is a 45-minute driving tour that features 60 life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs that come to life with movements and sounds.

St Patrick’s Day celebrations
These events usually start the weekend before St Patrick’s Day, which falls on March 17th, and continue right thru the actual day.

Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival
March 27 – 28, 2021
Georgia International Horse Park
This festival is older and more well established than its inside-the-Perimeter counterpart in Brookhaven.

National Pi Day
It’s all about the intersection of math and food! Retailers and restaurants use this day to offer baked pies and pizzas for the low price of $3.14 OR they offer a discount of $3.14.

Atlanta St. Patrick’s Day Parade canceled for 2021
Midtown Atlanta
Atlanta’s longest running parade! It is typically held on the Saturday just before St. Patricks Day, which falls on March 17th.

Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival canceled for 2021
Blackburn Park
The festival has gained a reputation for its incredible music line-up. It also includes an art market, food vendors galore, family-friendly activities in the Kidz Zone, a classic car show, and more. Festival admission is FREE. Details for Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival.
Phoenix Flies Celebration canceled for 2021
Multiple sites, city-wide
Phoenix Flies is an amazing celebration of local history and culture, featuring over 200 free tours and open houses of landmarks, historic homes, neighborhoods, cemeteries, and more. While the events are FREE, many require pre-registration and have limited space — so RSVP early. Details for Phoenix Flies
Atlanta Fair presumed canceled for 2021
Georgia State Stadium (formerly Turner Field)
This is Georgia’s only urban fair, taking place downtown in the GRAY LOT of the stadium. It features plenty of exciting rides and your favorite carnival cuisine. There’s also nightly entertainment, like concerts and dance troupes. The fair has an admission fee, but there are daily entrance and ride discounts that we post the night before, including FREE admission days and $20 unlimited-ride specials. Details for Atlanta Fair.
Atlanta Purim Parade & Festival canceled for 2021
Beth Jacob Synagogue
This is a variable event that may take place in February or March, depending on when the Purim holiday falls. The parade usually takes place along LaVista Rd, which is closed to traffic. The festival, complete with carnival rides, games, traditional Purim food, and more takes place at the Synagogue. Admission is FREE, but you’ll need tickets for the food vendors and rides.

Atlanta Exploration Expo canceled for 2021
Piedmont Park
The Exploration Expo is the grand finale event to the Atlanta Science Festival. It’s a festival in its own right, with live performances, food trucks, vendor booths, and fun. Details on the Exploration Expo
