When do Girl Scout Cookies go on sale in Atlanta?
Pre-orders start right about now!
It’s almost Girl Scout cookie time!
Nationally, the 2023 season opens on January 10th– although you won’t find cookies for sale right away. That launch date is internal, which means the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta will start gearing up to start selling. Pre-orders usually start in late to mid-January, and cookies become widely available in metro Atlanta in February.
See the details below on all the ways to order and buy cookies.
The Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta have roughly 30,000 young entrepreneurs selling cookies in 13 metro counties, according to a press release. They’ll be offering up the goods via smartphone app, online ordering, drive-thru and virtual cookie booths, and no-contact delivery.
If you know a Girl Scout, reach out to her (through her parents) to see how she’s selling cookies this year.
You may also see the parents of scouts posting about cookie orders on social media or in community groups like Next Door.
But if you don’t know a scouting family, read on to find out about all the ways you can order Girl Scout Cookies this year.
How much are Girl Scout Cookies?
Each Girl Scout Council is allowed to set its own prices for the cookies they sell, so there’s a bit of variation in prices. But in general, you’ll find a box of cookies is right around $5, and the gluten-free cookies are in the $6 range.
Toffee-tastic is one of the gluten-free flavors. You pay more for them because they cost more to produce — the GF cookies must be mixed and baked in a facility that can guarantee none of its equipment has come in contact with gluten. The baker passes on extra costs to the Girl Scouts, who pass them along to you, the consumer.
Girl Scout S’mores are also a specialty cookie that is usually priced at $6 per box.
2023 Girl Scout Cookies feature a NEW addition!
This year, there’s a NEW cookie to enjoy!
The latest addition is Raspberry Rally — described in a press release as a “thin, crispy cookie infused with raspberry flavor and dipped in chocolate coating.” They are similar in appearance to Thin Mints, but the filling is fruity rather than minty.
And don’t forget about the 2022 newcomer, available once again in 2023. It is known as the Adventurefuls cookie, and described as “an indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt.”

Where to buy Girl Scout Cookies in 2023
Call your favorite Girl Scout
If you know a Girl Scout or her parents, get in touch! There’s a good chance she’ll start taking pre-orders in January, and you could potentially have cookies in hand very soon. You’ll also find parents of scouts are posting on Facebook, Next Door, and other sites that they are taking orders.
NOTE that ordering directly from a Girl Scout is your only option to order cookies in January.
If your social network doesn’t include a single Scouting family, you’ll have to wait for February to get your fix, through one of the cookie outlets listed below.
Buy Girl Scout Cookies Online
If you know a Girl Scout, you can order from her personalized website using the Digital Cookie platform. You’ll just need to get her individual link — basically, each scout is building entrepreneurial skills by managing her own online store.
Additionally, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) host a nationwide cookie order website — it will go live on February 27th, 2023. Once it’s up and running, you can visit the site to place an order directly from a metro-Atlanta scout troop, for direct shipment. (You can also purchase cookies to donate to first responders.)
Find a Girl Scout Cookie Booth
Girls Scouts are operating cookie booths again this year, starting in February in metro Atlanta.
Once the booths are operating, you can find a cookie booth near you by using the Find Cookies tool — it is live now, and you can search by zip code for a booth near you. You can then sort the list by distance or by date.
Use the Mobile App
If you’re out and about a lot, you might need the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app on your iOS or Android device.
When you get a craving, just open the app and tap on Find Cookies Now!
By mid-February, you’ll be able to use the app to find the cookie booth closest to you (including the sale’s time, date, and location), to locate your local Girl Scout council, and to access the complete listing of Girl Scout Cookies available across the United States and Puerto Rico.
Send a Text
Text COOKIES to 59618 (message and data rates may apply.)
This will bring you to a screen where you can enter your zip code and find out where the closest cookie booths are, and on which dates. You can expect in-person cookie booth sales to start in February this year. (This tool is basically a mobile version of the Find Cookies website.)
Order through DoorDash
This was a new partnership in 2022. We don’t know yet if it will be back for 2023.
If it returns this year, you’ll be able to order for either pickup or delivery, via the DoorDash mobile app or website.
To find out if DoorDash is serving your area, just log into your account and search for Girl Scout Cookies. Remember, DoorDash may not be available just yet — so stay tuned!
