Come to the annual Juneteenth celebration in Marietta Square, hosted by the city of Marietta and the Cobb County branch of the NAACP. It promises to be a glorious celebration, going on all weekend long.
Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration of the ending of slavery. Today, the date is a federal holiday that celebrates African-American freedom while encouraging respect for all cultures.
Marietta’s 2023 Juneteenth celebration is a FREE and family-friendly event, with food, live music and entertainment, vendors, information booths, voter registration, raffles, health screenings, and more.
Schedule of Events
The Juneteenth weekend kicks off on Friday, June 16, 2023 with an Evening Under the Stars concert, featuring R&B music from 7 to 11 p.m.
Then, on Saturday, June 17th, Glover Park and the historic Marietta Square will host a cultural festival, including entertainment, vendors, and more. Saturday’s cultural festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Sunday, June 18th, from 2 to 6 p.m., the festivities include a Father’s Day salute.
Everyone is invited to attend.
