Ah, summer vacation! You have to keep the kids busy and entertained, even when the Georgia heat and humidity makes it unpleasant to be outdoors. And that’s when an air-conditioned movie theater comes in handy.

This summer, taking the kids to the movies doesn’t have to be an expensive outing.
Four national theater chains with an Atlanta presence are offering super-cheap summer movies for families on a budget.
PLUS, a couple of local theaters are offering a summer film series — in Newnan for FREE, and in Canton for just $1. 

The movies include familiar titles from Disney, Pixar, Dr. Seuss, the Muppets, and more.

• Summer Movie Camp tickets are just $3 each for kids and adults.
• A family-friendly title will be featured for eight weeks, every Monday and Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

• The series runs all summer, from June 22nd to August 12, 2026.
  
• There are about participating 14 AMC Theatre locations in metro Atlanta, including the northern and southern suburbs.

• All Summer Movie Express tickets are $1 each for children and adults.

• Summer Club House tickets are $1.75 each for children and adults.
• A family-favorite title will be screened on Mondays and Wednesdays for 10 weeks.

• Discounted snacks are also available. 
• The only local theater participating is Cinemark Tinseltown in Fayetteville.
• The showtime is typically 10 a.m. but may vary.

• Marcus Theatres: Kids Movie Magic Film Series

• Tickets are just $3 each for kids and adults.
• There are 10 films over 10 weeks. 
• A Series Passport is available for $15 — making each flick just $1.50 (you need a passport for each family member)
• The kid-friendly film series runs for 10 weeks, from June 7th to August 13, 2026
• The films play Sunday through Thursday each week. 
• Showtimes vary, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• There are also discounted snacks available in special sizes.
• There are three locations: Tucker, Roswell, and Suwanee.

• Canton Summer Family Movies

• Movies are on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., but show times may vary for individual shows.
