Ah, summer. What better way to beat Atlanta’s stifling heat and humidity than to let the kids play at a cool (and often free) splash pad? Here’s a list of metro-Atlanta’s splash pads, spraygrounds, & fountains where y’all can get your feet wet on the cheap:

Atlanta
Fountain of Rings at Centennial Olympic Park
One of the most recognized and photographed landmarks in Georgia, the Fountain of Rings is the world’s largest interactive fountain featuring the Olympic Ring symbol. Bonus: It doubles as a zero-depth pool for Downtown Atlanta.
- Location: Centennial Olympic Park, 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW, Atlanta
- Hours: Park is open daily 7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. The free Fountain of Rings show plays four times a day year-round at 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Legacy Fountain Splash Pad at Piedmont Park
The fountain features more than 70 jets, reaching up to 30 feet in the air, and magnificent LED-lighting, capable of showcasing more than one million lighting configurations.

- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily

The Plaza Fountain features colored lights & programmed jets for hours of family fun.

Splash Pad at Historic Fourth Ward Park
With water raining down from above and shooting up from the ground, the kids will be drenched in no time at Historic Fourth Ward Park’s splash pad. Bonus: The park is also home to a skatepark, so bring dry clothes & a skateboard if you want to give it a go.

Splash ‘N Play at D.H. Stanton Park
Along with interactive water play, the splashpad features a commissioned work of public art by artist Robert Witherspoon at its center.

- Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily in season (May 1-October 1, 2018)

Sprayground at Center Hill Park
From a water tunnel to water jets, there are plenty of ways for little ones to get drenched at Center Hill Park’s Sprayground.

Though the splash pad’s fountains should hold the kids’ attention, Perkerson Park also features an 18-hole disc golf course.

Though the splash pad is officially part of Adams Park Pool, Splash Island has everything from fountains to water cannons to keep the kids soaked this summer.
- Location: Adams Park Pool, 1620 Delowe Drive SW, Atlanta
- Hours: 12:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Monday-Saturday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
- Admission: $5. Free swim hours include 12:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m on Monday and 12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Alpharetta
The Wills Park Pool renovation includes a leisure pool with zero-depth entry, interactive play stations, and water slide.
- Location: Alpharetta City Pool at Wills Park, 1815 Old Milton Pkwy, Alpharetta
- Hours: 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Monday, 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday-Thursday, noon-7:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Open daily in the summer (May 26-August 5) and weekends only from August 11-September 29, 2018.
- Admission $5 per person. Adults age 50+ admitted for $1. Children age 3 & under admitted free.
Buford
Village Pavilion Fountain at Mall of Georgia
Though I don’t normally associate shopping malls with a day of water play, the Village Pavilion Fountain at the Mall of Georgia makes it easy to take a splash break.

- Free
Duluth
Bring a change of clothes for the little ones when you head to Downtown Duluth for a concert, movie night, or other event. They’re bound to get drenched while playing in the fountain on the Town Green.
- Location: Town Green in Downtown Duluth
- Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday and 9:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Saturday. The fountain will be turned off at 7:00 p.m. on movie nights.

Gainesville
From sprinklers to water sprayers, this sprayground’s water features are a fun way for little ones to stay cool.
- Location: Laurel Park, 3100 Old Cleveland Highway, Gainesville
- Hours: 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday and noon-5:00 p.m. on Saturday & Sunday. Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Weekday hours end the last week in July; open weekends only through Labor Day.
- Admission $2 per child under age 12.
Kennesaw
Splash Pad at Swift-Cantrell Park
With a fountain spray, ground geyser, jet stream, magic mist, and multiple sea silhouettes, there’s tons of water fun in store for kids of all ages at Swift-Cantrell Park’s splash pad.
- Location: Swift-Cantrell Park, 3333 Buford Dr, Kennesaw
- Hours: 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. daily. Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (closed Thursdays for maintenance). Weekday hours end July 31; open weekends only from August 1-Labor Day.
- Admission: $2 per person. Children age 2 and under admitted free.
Marietta
Splash Pad at Sewell Park Pool
Though it’s technically part of the Sewell Park Pool, the zero-entry splash pad is a perfect spot for low-key water fun in the fountain.
- Location: Sewell Park Pool, 2051 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta
- Hours: 1:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Monday-Thursday and 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Friday-Sunday. , and 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Open daily in the summer (May 26-July 28) and weekends only from July 29-September 3, 2018.
- Admission: $3.50 for children ages 3-17, $4.50 for adults ages 18-54, and $3 for ages 55+.
Norcross
Splash Pad at Lillian Webb Park
With everything from a waterfall to interactive water features, kids can cool off on the cheap at Lillian Webb Park’s Splash Pad.
- Location: Lillian Webb Park, 5 College Street, Norcross
- Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily from May-October 2018.

Roswell
Splash ‘n’ Play at Riverside Park
Roswell’s spraygrounds have a variety of spray features for countless hours of fun all summer long.
- Location: Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Road, Roswell
- Hours: 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and noon-6:00 p.m. on Sundays in the summer (May 25-August 5, 2018); closed Tuesdays for maintenance. Open weekends only in fall (August 6-September 30, 2018).
- Admission: $2; free for children under age 1. Free for adults accompanying a paid child (4 and over) but not entering water. Parents with children age 3 and under or with older children requiring special assistance (regardless of age) must purchase a wristband.
The Spray Station at East Roswell Park
Roswell’s spraygrounds feature a variety of spray features for countless hours of fun all summer long.
- Location: East Roswell Park, 9000 Fouts Road, Roswell
- Hours: 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturday, and noon-6:00 p.m. on Sundays in the summer (May 25-August 5, 2018); closed Wednesdays for maintenance.

Suwanee
Big Splash at Town Center Park
The interactive fountain features 43 jets & uses up to 1,400 gallons of water per minute (the water is recycled).

- Hours: 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily in season (April 1-October 31, 2018)
- Free
With water coming from all directions, the Spray Pad at Old Atlanta Park is a fun (& cheap) way to beat the heat.
- Location: Old Atlanta Park, 810 Nichols Road, Suwanee
- Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday-Saturday during the regular season (May 26-August 1, 2018). 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday during the late season (August 2-September 3, 2018)
- Admission: $2 per person age 1 and up. Adults admitted free (dry deck only) with a paying child.
