Outdoor entertainment will be huge again this spring, and this looks like a fun option.
Come to the Ponce City Market amphitheater for a re-imagined, Black History Month performance of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
This adaptation will use Black culture, rhythm, and dialogue to tell the classic tale. Hamlet is a prince whose father’s death has uprooted the castle. Follow his efforts to get to the bottom of the mysterious happenings, along with his friends Horatio and Marcellus.
Bring your own food and drinks. You’re also welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
The best price on tickets is through advance online purchase — it’s $15 plus tax and a $1.88 processing fee (the total is $18.21)
Tickets bought on site are $20, with a $2 ticket fee, plus tax.
The shows take place every Saturday and Sunday in February at 3:30 p.m.
Masks are required.
The amphitheater is located near the North Avenue entrance to Ponce City Market.
