About The Tempest
Prospero, the usurped Duke of Milan, has been living on a nearly deserted island with his daughter, Miranda, since her infancy. The island is inhabited by magical creatures, chiefly Ariel and Caliban, and Prospero has learned to yield the magic himself. With his powers, he sends a magical storm to wreck the ship of those who betrayed him and bring them to the island so that he may reclaim his Dukedom. Comedy, magic, and romance tie the many threads of The Tempest together for a satisfying conclusion with one of Shakespeare’s most quoted and poignant endings.
