Dekalb County will host a FREE paper shredding event on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The event is open to all Dekalb County residents.
Note that proof of residency may be requested — so bring an ID or utility bill, just in case.
The shredding event takes place from 8 a.m. to noon at:
DeKalb County Sanitation Division Central Transfer Station
3720 Leroy Scott Drive
Decatur, Georgia 30032
You will have an opportunity to responsibly dispose of all types of documents, including sensitive personal documents such as old tax records and legal documents.
All documents will be shredded on-site.
You are limited to ten standard-size boxes of paper.
Shredding services will be provided by A1 Shredding & Recycling.
