UPDATE: This event did not take place on Dec. 7th, due to rainy weather (which would ruin the man-made snow mountain). According to this Facebook post it is rescheduled for Monday, December 12th.
Light Up Brookhaven is a three-hour winter festival that includes the traditions of both Christmas and Hanukah — along with food, music, giveaways, face-painting, a candy cane hunt, and more seasonal fun.
It takes place in Blackburn Park on Monday, December 12th, 2022 from 6 to 9 p.m.
You’ll want to arrive on time, because Santa Clause will make a dramatic arrival around 6:30, with a live reindeer.
That’s followed by the lighting of the city’s 40-foot Christmas tree, the city’s Hanukah menorah, and the dreidel display.
Last year, Light Up Brookhaven featured man-made snow — with a snow mountain for kids to slide down!
In past years there was live music, food trucks, and concessions.
There were also FREE photo opps with Santa Claus.
We’ll update as details are released.
