The bad news: The state of Georgia no longer holds its tax-free holiday in July before school starts up. Now, the good news: For the third year in a row, The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta will host its More Than Tax Free weekend.
The 2019 edition of this popular, back-to-school shopping event takes place this weekend, from Saturday, July 20th to Sunday, July 21st.
During this weekend, you’ll receive an $8 gift card for every $100 you spend at The Outlet Shoppes.
According to the press release, you can combine multiple receipts from all the stores you shop at during this two-day period. To redeem them for your gift card, just present your receipts at Guest Services, located in the food pavilion.
This year, you’ll have even more time to shop — because The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta is extending hours at all of its 100+ stores throughout the weekend.
Extended store hours:
- Saturday — 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sunday — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta is the closest outlet center to the Atlanta metro area. It is located in Woodstock.
It features more than 100 name-brand stores, including Kate Spade, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, Under Armour, Vineyard Vines, American Eagle, Adidas, Columbia Sportswear, Nike, Coach, Michael Kors, and more.
The center is located off Exit 9 on I-575.
Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays. (SEE EXTENDED HOURS ABOVE)
