The Lighting of Avalon returns to Avalon in 2022.
The all-day event takes place on Sunday, November 20, 2022 from 1 to 8 p.m.
This FREE and family-friendly celebration includes the the opening of Avalon’s ice skating rink, the lighting of the 40-foot tree, and the arrival of Santa Claus.
There is festive music and free activities for the whole family.
Lighting of Avalon
This is the schedule for Sunday, Nov. 20, 2022. Events take place from 1 to 8 p.m.
1 to 4 p.m.: Activity Row
Take the family for a stroll along Avalon Boulevard for face painting, balloon art, photo booth fun, and more!
1 to 2 p.m.: Skating Performance (followed by open skate till 9 p.m.)
Avalon on Ice kicks off with a magical ice skating performance at 1 p.m. – and then the rink officially opens to the public at 2 p.m. Tickets are required to skate, and the rink is open till 9 p.m.
1 to 6 p.m.: DJ & Holiday Performances
Starting at 1PM, enjoy a live DJ spinning holiday hits as well as seasonal performances from local bands and choirs.
6:30 to 8 p.m.: Holiday concert by Bogey and the Viceroy
Back again for another year, Bogey and the Viceroy rounds out the evening with a spectacular holiday performance you won’t want to miss!
7 p.m.: Tree Lighting
Help Santa countdown to the lighting of a magnificent 40-foot tree to kick off the holidays.

Avalon on Ice
Avalon’s ice skating rink is open daily to the public during the holiday season each year.
General admission tickets are $18 per adult and $14 per child under nine, including skates. These are the same prices as last year!

Santa at Avalon
Beginning Monday, Nov. 21st, the man in red will take up residence in an open-air, North Pole-inspired cottage in Palmer Plaza for another season of festive photo opps.
Photos with Santa are by appointment (it costs $40) and walk-ups will be accepted if time allows.

Storytime with Santa
This event takes place every Monday evening, from Nov. 20th to Dec. 24th
There are two 30-minute sessions — starting at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Tickets are $15 — and the events will sell out. Buy tickets online.
City of Refuge Christmas Pop-Up Tree Lot
The tree lot will offer an incredible collection of Fraser Firs and Balsam Firs in a variety of sizes, ranging from small tabletops to grand 10-footers. The lot will also offer a selection of holiday greenery, including beautiful wreaths, garland and more.
The pop-up tree lot is located on the second level of the North Parking Deck.
It opens at noon on Nov. 25th, and will remain open until all trees are sold.
Hours are 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m on Saturday, and noon to 8pm on Sunday.

Menorah Lighting at Avalon
Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 5 to 6 p.m.
You are invited to the Boulevard to kick off the first night of Chanukah with a traditional Menorah lighting ceremony. Chabad of North Fulton will help light the menorah and have special goodies for guests!
Noon Years Eve
Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Have little ones with early bedtimes? They can celebrate early, ringing in the New Year at noon instead of midnight.
This family-friendly event includes live music from DJ Willy Wow, face painting, free snacks, photo opps, crafts, and a countdown to noon — when a giant balloon drop will welcome in the new year!
A kids-only bubbly bar will offer sparking juices to splash and garnish! Mimosas & additional adult beverages along with a food pop-up from Chick-fil-A will also be available for purchase.
NOTE: Tickets go on sale on November 28th at 10 a.m. and they always sell out.

Kids under two are FREE and don’t need a ticket.
