The city of Covington will host the Lighting of the Square on Thursday, November 16, 2023. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is FREE to attend.
There is an incredible music lineup, free S’mores, Santa Claus, and a small fireworks show.
Santa will flip the switch to light up the Square around 7:30 p.m., and then will settle into his chair for visits with children — bring your camera!
The Square will close to traffic at 4 p.m. to create a pedestrian-friendly zone for the event.

Covington Mistletoe Market
Shop local at the Mistletoe Market in Covington, held outdoors at the Covington Welcome Center.
It takes place on four Saturdays in 2023:
- November 18
- December 1
- December 9
- December 16
Shop for gifts, decorations, and treats.
Hours are 9 a.m. to noon.
These are outdoor markets.
The markets at the Welcome Center take place in Heirloom Park, located at 1143 Oak Street, Covington, GA 30014.
