Avondale Estates is bringing live theater to the Town Green this fall, with Shakespeare at Sunset.
The performances are FREE and family-friendly.
The city has had two successful seasons of a popular community series known as A Shakespeare Happening, and now that series is being expanded and rebranded.
Why Shakespeare?
Avondale Estates has a tie to Shakespeare that you may not know about!
The city’s founder, George Francis Willis, modeled the city’s name and Tudor-Revival architecture after Shakespeare’s birthplace, Stratford-upon-Avon, in England. Willis and the city planners designed the downtown commercial buildings and many local residences in a distinct Tudor-Revival style. See the photo, below!
About the productions
The fall series features a new collaboration with actors from Georgia Classic Theatre and continues to make professional Shakespeare accessible to all audiences.
