
The City of College Park will host its annual Black History Program on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
It will feature community leaders, cultural performances and a robust awards presentation honoring local change-makers.
The program goes from 2 to 4 p.m.
It takes place at Georgia International Convention Center, located at:
2000 Convention Center Concourse
College Park, GA 30337
Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and there will be a short meet-and-greet before the program begins.
Remarks from city leadership include Mayor Bianca Motley Broom, Mayor Pro-Tem Joe Carn, and members of City Council.
Highlights of the program include:
- A cultural performance by Kouyate Jeli featuring youth African dancers, drummers and vocalist Mah Kouyate
- Guest speaker Holly Rodriguez presenting “Land, Legacy & Liberation: The Real Story of Black Agriculture”
- Keynote address by Dr. La’Neice Littleton, “Remembering Our Unsung Heroes”
- Presentation of the Shining Star and Youth Shining Star Awards, along with multiple ward-nominated community honors
- Special recognitions including the Lifetime Achievement Award (presented posthumously to Walt Bellamy), Legacy Award, Merit Award, Infinite Potential Award, Humanitarian Award and Halo Award
- The program will conclude with a community rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” followed by a reception.
