Electronics Recycling (city residents only)
City residents can safely recycle used electronics at the Town Green. Click here for more info about what is and isn’t accepted.
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Avon Garden Club Eco-Garden Tour
Visit one or all of the Avondale Estates tour locations on this self-guided tour including the Town Green. Check out this Google map with all 12 locations. You can also download a Word document with QR code for more info — click thru the link.
2 to 5 p.m.
Sustainability Fair
Learn from speakers on environmental topics, meet local organization, green vendors and enjoy children’s activities at the Town Green
Speakers include:
– Mike Barcik of Southface Institute on home energy efficiency
– Tres Crow of Roots Down on landscaping for climate resiliency
– Brandy Hall of Shades of Green Permaculture on stormwater and managing water at your home
– Pandra Williams of Beech Hollow Farm on using native plants
– Actress and Activist Elaine Hendrix on the benefits of a plant-based diet
5 to 8 p.m.
Earth Day Concert
Featuring the Packway Handle Band and opener Blue Gravy along with food and beverage vendors, on the Town Green.
