Hosea Helps hosts MLK Day Festival: meals, health screenings, community resources, more

Hosea Helps will host an MLK Day Festival at its headquarters in southwest Atlanta, on Monday, January 19, 2026. Hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Hosea Helps is a nonprofit organization based in Atlanta, dedicated to serving individuals and families in need since 1971. They offer a variety of programs and services to help the community. 

The MLK Day event will feature hot meals for 400 families, as well as a wide variety of resources. 

If you’d like to participate, fill out the registration form online, and answer the questions about which services you’re interested in. 

Services include:

• Free health screenings, including mammograms, HIV, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and hepatitis testing. 
• Free haircuts and hair braiding
• Free school supplies
• Free grocery boxes
• Assistance in applying for SNAP, WIC, Medicare, Medicaid, and more 
• Employment assistance
• Kids activities, inflatables, games, and face painting 
• All-day raffles
