About Peter and the Wolf
Peter and the Wolf is a wonderful symphony experience for kids because it turns the orchestra into a living storybook.
Each character is represented by a different instrument—like the bird as a bright flute or the wolf as deep, rumbling horns—so children naturally learn how music can express personality and emotion.
The narrative is easy to follow, full of gentle suspense and humor.
The story structure keeps children hooked.
This symphony showcases the orchestra without feeling like a lesson. Instead of explaining what each instrument does, the piece shows it.
Kids hear how a bassoon can sound like a grumpy grandfather or how strings can create a sense of adventure. It’s experiential learning at its best.
