- On Saturday, September 27, 2014, you can get free admission to hundreds of museums across the U.S., thanks to Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live! program. To get in free, you’ll need to fill out a form online & print out the admission ticket. Per the fine print, the ticket must be presented for admission, and it’s good for free general admission for two people. Limit one ticket per household. FYI–Some of the participating museums on the list are always free, so pick a museum that typically charges an admission fee. In metro Atlanta, you can use the Museum Day Live! deal to visit The High, the Center for Puppetry Arts, the Booth Western Art Museum, the Road to Tara Museum, & more.
- On National Public Lands Day, September 27, 2014, you’ll get fee-free admission to national parks. Some, like Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, are always free, so opt to explore a park that normally charges a parking fee, like the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in Sandy Springs.
