From October 5-22, 2017, Smokey Joe’s Café will be at the Theatre in the Square in Marietta.

Not familiar with the work? Here’s the quick summary: “‘Hound Dog,’ ‘Stand by Me,’ ‘Love Potion #9’– the list of rock ‘n’ roll classics penned by the songwriting duo of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller is jam-packed with legendary hits. A high-energy celebration of this chart-topping body of work from ‘the Rodgers and Hammerstein of rock ‘n’ roll,’ Smokey Joe’s Café is built around a series of comic and romantic vignettes set in the 1950s, and boasts nearly 40 landmark tunes, like ‘Yakety Yak,’ ‘Jailhouse Rock,’ ‘Spanish Harlem,’ ‘On Broadway,’ ‘Kansas City,’ and ‘Fools Fall in Love.’ This all-singing, all-dancing spectacular holds the record for the longest-running musical revue ever on Broadway, and the show’s music won the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.”
