During the free event, teens can explore ‘identity,’ a theme found in the contemporary art of Rashid Johnson and classic Dutch masterpieces, like Girl with a Pearl Earring. They can take a guided tour of the exhibitions, watch teen poets battle in a slam, make art, and check out entertainment by DJ Remix’d and DJ Khal, Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Alliance Theatre’s teen ensemble.
Forms of I.D. Teen Night is free, & it is for high school students only; valid ID required (a high school ID, driver’s license, learner’s permit, school transcript or schedule, home school ID or letter of intent, or a passport).
Parking at the Boys and Girls Club deck on Peachtree Street is free for Teen Night attendees; space is limited. Or you can drop-off/pick-up on Peachtree St in front of the Museum.
Bonus: Parents can head next door to the Rich theatre for an easy date night. They’ll be showing Girl with a Pearl Earring, starring Colin Firth as Vermeer & Scarlett Johansson as “the girl.” The movie starts at 8:00 p.m., and tickets are $7 each.
