The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History is home to The General, and you can check out the locomotive itself free of charge + learn more details about the Great Locomotive Chase when the museum wraps up its sesquicentennial celebration this weekend.
From 9:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012, admission is free to The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History.
If you like living history experiences, be sure to stop by from 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. for Christmas on the Home Front, featuring a Civil War encampment on the front lawn and period dancing inside the museum.
