atlchai with atlcheapThis week, we’re kicking off a new event: #ATLChai with @ATLCheap.

Why? I want to do three things: Check out even more events & venues in the ATL, try as many chai lattes as possible, and put a face to a name for those of you I’ve ‘met’ over the years but never met in real life.

The details:

From noon until about 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013, we’ll meet at Steady Hand Pour House for chit chat & chai lattes (or coffee, if you prefer). Per one yelper: “Love! Delicious chai tea… possibly one of the best I’ve had in the US.” We shall see.

Then we’ll head to the Michael C. Carlos Museum to take advantage of free admission day, which starts at 1:00 p.m., and check out the current exhibition: The Plains of Mars: Warfare and Peace in European War Prints, 1500-1825.

  • Steady Hand Pour House is located at 1593 N Decatur Rd, Druid Hills, in Emory Village.
  • Michael C. Carlos Museum is located at 571 South Kilgo Cir NE, Atlanta, at Emory University.

Planning to come? Please click ‘join’ on the event page so that I know to look out for you. Hopefully you can sneak away for a long lunch…

If you can’t make it, take note: We’ll be planning more #ATLChai with @ATLCheap events at various spots in the ATL, checking out everything from festivals & art walks to theatre & historic sites. Hope you can join us.

  1. Great idea. Are there any suggestions on parking, especially free options? (Trying to arrange my schedule.)

  2. I’m not sure about free options (open to suggestions if anyone has them though). My plan is to park at the Oxford Rd deck, as it’s convenient to both Emory Village & the Carlos Museum: http://www.carlos.emory.edu/visit/directions-parking

If there’s free parking at Emory Village, I’ll go with that first & then move over to the Oxford Rd. deck to go to the Carlos. I just don’t know that area well enough to tell you off hand. ~Jenn
