On Saturday, February 23, 2013, the Black History Month Parade will take place in the historic MLK/Sweet Auburn District.
The parade will step off at noon at the corner of Bell Street & Auburn Avenue, continue west on Auburn Avenue to Park Place/Pryor Street, and then continue south on Pryor Street to the entrance of Underground Atlanta (corner of Upper Alabama & Pryor Street).
There’ll be marching bands, entertainers, dignitaries, civic groups, celebrities, Atlanta Xplosion football team & marching band, Atlanta Caribbean Carnival, Atl Queens & Kings Rydez car club, and more.
After the parade, plan to take part in the festivities at Underground Atlanta, starting at 3:00 p.m. You can check out art exhibitions in Underground Atlanta, including an African-American Cinema Gallery Exhibit. There’ll be live music, a special screening of the movie “42″ begins at 4:00 p.m., & more.
