I’ve seen Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at the Fox several times now, and it’s on my short list of can’t-miss shows for 2013. It’s one of the most impressive productions I’ve ever seen–the athleticism, the art, all of it…it’s beautifully done. The tour returns to Atlanta February 14-17, 2013, and it’ll be a new experience even if you’ve seen Alvin Ailey Dance Theater perform before.

Want to see it on the cheap? Here are a few discounts:

  • Students get the best deal: With a valid ID, students can buy up to two tickets for $10 each to the Thursday, February 14, 8:00 p.m. performance. Tickets can only be purchased at the Fox Theatre box office. Since it’s not a rush ticket, you can take advantage of the student rate now, but you must by your tickets before 6:00 p.m. on February 14, 2013, to get the deal.
  • Thanks to a deal on WSB’s Family 2 Family page, you can use code “FAMILY” to save $10 on tickets to the Thursday, February 14, 8:00 p.m. performance.
  • If you attend the family matinee on Saturday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m., you buy one ticket, you can get one at 50% off. The Saturday matinee features From Before, Strange Humors, Grace, and Revelations. Plan to stick around after for a post-performance Q&A session with the dancers; it’s free for all matinee ticketholders.
  • Going with a group? Groups of 10+ can save up to 20% on tickets. Call 404-881-2000 to get the deal.

The Fox Theatre is located at 660 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta.
