Winter is an excellent time to visit Zoo Atlanta, as quite a few of the animals are more active when it’s chilly (especially pandas, my favorite). Though it won’t be cold this weekend, it looks like temps will drop next week, so mark your calendars to take advantage of one of these deals:
- If you have a library card, you can check out a family pass at Georgia’s public libraries (they’re available at participating branches in all 159 counties) & get free admission to Zoo Atlanta for a family of four. There’s one pass per location. The pass may be checked out once per year, per card, per household, and it is valid for two adults and up to two children. We let our membership lapse, so I think I may try this option for our next zoo trip. FYI–Per the comments on one of the recent Zoo Atlanta posts, the pass can be difficult to get. You can’t reserve it in advance, and at some branches, the individual who has it checked out will tip off someone they know to ensure that it stays within their circle of friends. Still, it’s worth a shot.
- When temperatures fall below 45 degrees, you’ll save 50% on admission to Zoo Atlanta. To get the deal, it needs to be below 45 degrees when you’re at the front gate.
- You’ll save a few dollars on adult tickets if you buy them via AtlanTIX. After fees, the price works out to just under $17.
- If you’re planning to visit multiple attractions in Atlanta, take advantage of the Atlanta CityPASS to save almost 50% on admission to five Atlanta-area attractions. The Georgia Aquarium ticket includes a Deepo Pass with Expedited Entry, Deepo’s 4-D theater, and the Dolphin Tales show (based on availability). The World of Coca-Cola ticket includes admission, the 4-D theatre, and a free keepsake bottle from the museum. Other attractions included are Inside CNN Studio Tour, Fernbank (includes IMAX, too) OR High Museum of Art, and Zoo Atlanta (includes All-Rides Wristband) OR Atlanta History Center. It’s valid for nine days, and if you plan it right, you’ll have two full weekends + the weekdays in between to get to all of the attractions.
General admission is regularly $21.99 for ages 12+ and $16.99 for ages 3-11. Military, college students, and seniors (age 65+) with ID will receive a discounted rate of $17.99.
Zoo Atlanta is located at 800 Cherokee Ave. SE, Atlanta.
