I haven’t ice skated in years, and I’m not sure I’m ready to tackle propelling myself on blades on the outdoor rink at Centennial Olympic Park. Either way, this season I’ll make a trip out to Centennial Park, if only to check out Holiday in Lights.
Holiday in Lights through January 27, 2013
Even if you’ve seen Holiday in Lights at Centennial Olympic Park in previous years, it’s worth going again: They make a new holiday lights display each season. Since it’s free to check out thousands of holiday lights, it’s an excellent add-on outing when you happen to be near Centennial Olympic Park after dark.
Ice Skating through January 27, 2013
Though the hours may vary for certain holidays, in general the outdoor ice skating rink in Centennial Olympic Park is open from 4:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, 4:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. on Saturdays, & 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Sundays.
Admission is $10/90 minutes of skating, including skate rental. Want to go on the cheap?
- College students can catch a break: On Mondays & Tuesdays from through January 22, 2013, admission, including skate rental, is only $7 with ID; excludes December 24, 25, & 31, 2012, as well as January 1, 2013.
- And if you plan a group outing (20+), admission, including skate rental, is $7/person. You must call 404-223-4412 to book the outing a week in advance, and the deal is not valid on Fridays or holidays.
