The “For I am the Black Jaguar: Shamanic Visionary Experience in Ancient American Art” exhibition at the Michael C. Carlos Museum looks intriguing. On view through January 5, 2013, the exhibition highlights works from the Carlos Museum collections that embody the shamanistic visionary experience.

Want to check it out on the cheap? You’ve got a pair of ways to save while the deals last:

While you’re there, be sure to browse the Carlos Museum’s other works; the Egyptian collection is always a favorite with my kids, though I’m partial to the Greek & Roman collection.

And mark your calendar: You have several chances to visit the Carlos Museum for free. Admission to the Carlos Museum is free from 1:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the Thursday, January 31 & February 21, 2013.

The Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University is located at 571 S. Kilgo Circle, Atlanta.
