I went to Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden when it debuted in 2011, and I saw it again last month.

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights is gorgeous. I’ll borrow the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s summary: “Glimmering with more than 1 million lights, the show will blanket the Garden’s 30 acres in every shimmering color under the rainbow. New sparkling attractions include spectacular lighting effects casting an icy cool vibe on the ‘Liquid Lights’ in the Cascades Garden, while the ‘Starry Night Walk’, inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting, features dozens of swirling stars twinkling along the walkway through the camellias. The Great Lawn will once again be transformed into ‘Orchestral Orbs’–a one-of-a-kind topiary light show choreographed to holiday music. Meet Lumina in person–the mysteriously beautiful sprite who flitters about the Garden spreading holiday magic to children. Find enchanting frog elves (frelves) hidden along the paths, and look for a bejewled dragonfly, dozens more lighted trees and shrubs in gorgeous colors palettes and plenty of high-tech wows throughout the conservatories.”

The downside is that even Garden members are required to purchase a ticket. The upside is that you can save:

For a limited time, $10 buys your ticket to Garden Lights, Holiday Nights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Bonus: I just tried it, and “FETCH10″ worked for an extra 10% off at Sweetjack. There are a limited number available and the deal may sell out, so order soon to get yours.

Tickets to Garden Lights, Holiday Nights are regularly $20 for adults & $14 for kids ages 3-17 on Peak Nights (Thursday-Sunday); for members, it’s $17 & $11, respectively. On Non-Peak Nights (Monday-Wednesday), admission is $17 for adults & $11 for kids ages 3-17; for members, it’s $14 & $8, respectively.

FYI–Head out early. The lines weren’t too bad when we got there around 5:30 p.m., but they were quite long by the time we left a couple hours later.

Garden Lights, Holiday Nights will take place nightly through January 5, 2013. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is located at 1345 Piedmont Ave. NE in Midtown.
