I’m going to try to get to the Carlos Museum on Thursday:

The “For I am the Black Jaguar: Shamanic Visionary Experience in Ancient American Art” exhibition at the Michael C. Carlos Museum looks intriguing. On view through January 5, 2013, the exhibition highlights works from the Carlos Museum collections that embody the shamanistic visionary experience.

Want to go? You have a chance to check it out for free. Admission to the Carlos Museum is free from 1:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the Thursday, December 6, 2012.

Can’t make it? While supplies last, you can take advantage of a pair of discount options:

While you’re there, be sure to browse the Carlos Museum’s other works; the Egyptian collection is always a favorite with my kids, though I’m partial to the Greek & Roman collection. FYI–Mark your calendars for the first two free admission dates in 2013: January 31 & February 21.

The Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University is located at 571 S. Kilgo Circle, Atlanta.
