I’ve seen Santaland Diaries three times now (I was with “slut” a couple of years ago, and I’ve since learned to avoid the front row), and I may see it again this December. It’s hilarious. David Sedaris wrote it, so that alone should give you an idea of what to expect during the show, which recounts the tale of an out-of-work writer’s stint as a Macy’s Department Store elf.
It is, however, not kid-friendly. Though it’s essentially the same production from year to year, that timelessness & familiarity are part of what I love about it–Santaland Diaries is as much a staple of the holiday season as The Nutcracker or A Christmas Carol.
Want to go? You’ve got a few ways to save:
- Thanks to AtlanTIX, you can get discount tickets to Santaland Diaries; the deal is available for most performances during the run.
- And for a limited time, $28 buys a reserved-seating section ticket + a holiday beverage for select performances of Santaland Diaries, thanks to a deal on Scoutmob.
- Also, keep an eye on PoshDealz for discount tickets; they just sold out of tickets for Santaland Diaries performances through the end of November, and there’s a chance they may get more for December dates.
Santaland Diaries will be at The Horizon Theatre through December 30, 2012. The Horizon Theatre is located at Euclid & Austin Avenues in Little Five Points.
