I’m hoping that I can rework my schedule so that I can make it to this one; my girls love parades:

On Saturday, December 1, 2012, the Children’s Christmas Parade will take place in downtown Atlanta. The festivities kick off at 10:30 a.m. at Peachtree St. near Baker St.; the parade route follows Peachtree St., turns right onto Marietta St., & then turns left and finishes along Centennial Olympic Park Dr.

It should be a fun morning—there’ll be marching bands, dance groups, giant helium balloons, floats, Santa Claus (of course), & more. It’s free to attend, but if you’d like to guarantee a decent view, you can get reserved bleacher seats for $15 each.

If you’re heading downtown for the parade, consider taking MARTA, as you’ll be joining about 300,000 of your closest friends. Both the Five Points & Peachtree Center stations are within walking distance of the parade route.

  1. I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for this site. I sent my Dad the link. He lives in Atlanta and is always looking for freebies and fun cheap things to do. To bad I won’t be there for the Parade. I’m sure there will be some fun things to do when I go visit him for Christmas.
