For a free & festive way to get into the holiday spirit, swing by Lenox Square for the 2012 Macy’s Great Tree Lighting on Thanksgiving. Since you’ll be joining about 100,000 of your closest friends to watch the lighting, skip the traffic & take MARTA to Lenox Square.
Pre-show entertainment begins at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 22, 2012, and the main entertainment begins at 7:00 p.m. This year’s show features performances by Trace Adkins, Chris Mann, and Cymphonique Miller. At 8:00 p.m., the evening ends with a bang with a spectacular fireworks finale set to holiday music.
If you’re planning to let the kids take a ride on Priscella the Pink Pig while you’re there, be prepared to pay full price, as I’ve yet to find a coupon for 2012. As always though, there’s a discount for multiple rides for the same person: One ride is $3, two rides is $5.50, & three rides is $7.50.
