If Magical Nights of Lights at Lake Lanier Islands is on your short list of must-do holiday activities, you may want to take advantage of this deal:
From November 16-December 31, 2012, Magical Nights of Lights returns to Lake Lanier Islands. Admission is not cheap: It’s $60 for cars seating 1-9 passengers & $90 for vans with 10-19 passenger capacity.
But you can save a bit: At participating sponsor locations, you can pick up a coupon good for $10 off admission to Magical Nights of Lights; sponsors include Publix, McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, QT, Audi Gwinnett, & Lenny’s Sub Shop.
I picked up my coupon when I checked out at Publix. The coupon is valid on Monday-Sunday in November and Sunday-Thursday only in December, excluding December 24 & 25, 2012. Bonus: November is double-coupon month, which makes the $10 off coupon worth $20 off admission during the month of November. You can redeem the coupon at the gate or use promo code “PLX” to buy your ticket online.
No word yet if they’re going to make a stand-alone discount available on one of the daily deal sites; I’ll let you know if they do. That said, on PoshDealz, $50 buys a car ticket to Magical Nights of Lights + a $20 gift card to either White Oak Kitchen or South City Kitchen.
FYI–Be advised. We’ve gone to holiday lights events at Lake Lanier in the past, and without fail, we get sucked into stopping by the carnival/Santa’s Workshop after we complete the driving tour. This year, there’s an ice skating rink, too. Either bring money for rides & treats or tell the kids you’re just going to see the lights.
But you can save a bit on the extras: During Thanksgiving Weekend (November 23-25), you’ll receive one free carnival ride per canned food donation; limit 4 free carnival rides per carload). All donations benefit Free Chapel’s His Harvest House, a local food bank ministry in Hall County.
