Ticket Discounts: Cirque du Soleil’s Totem in Atlanta through December 30, 2012

We saw Cirque du Soleil’s Totem last weekend. I’ve seen several productions, and the performances never cease to amaze me–the gorgeous costuming and choreography make each show feel like a work of art, and I remain in awe of the complex circus arts the performers manage pull off night after night.

Totem’s narrative arc & circus arts were different than I’m used to, but it was still an enjoyable show. The downsides: My favorites–contortionists & high-wall trampoline artists–were not part of the mix, and I prefer the costuming & arc of shows like Ovo. That said, the show included amazing stunts. Our favorites: Unicyclists that flipped bowls with their feet while cycling & caught them on their heads, the tricks performed on the balance-beam style trampolines, and the juggler (both for the creative use of light & the complexity of the juggling). And the clowns kept my daughter giggling, which is always fun to hear.
