I’m going to try to get to the Carlos Museum on Thursday:

The “For I am the Black Jaguar: Shamanic Visionary Experience in Ancient American Art” exhibition at the Michael C. Carlos Museum looks intriguing. On view through January 5, 2013, the exhibition highlights works from the Carlos Museum collections that embody the shamanistic visionary experience.

Want to go? You have several chances to check it out for free. Admission to the Carlos Museum is free from 1:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on the Thursday, November 8, 2012.

Can’t make it? On PoshDealz, $25 buys you two tickets to The Black Jaguar at The Michael C. Carlos Museum and a $50 gift certificate for The Melting Pot. Tickets & gift cards will be sent by mail.

While you’re there, be sure to browse the Carlos Museum’s other works; the Egyptian collection is always a favorite with my kids, though I’m partial to the Greek & Roman collection.

The Michael C. Carlos Museum of Emory University is located at 571 S. Kilgo Circle, Atlanta.
