The one-night public-art event will take over the streets & empty spaces of the Castleberry Hill Art District & feature fourteen projects by eighty artists, including multimedia installations, projections, dance, performance, sound and light installations, a parade, & more.
I couldn’t make it out last year, but I’m going to try & head down on Saturday. The evening starts with a Jazz Funeral for Snake Nation &
Krewe of the Grateful Gluttons lantern parade at 8:00 p.m. and concludes with the midnight performance & after party outside the Elliot Street Pub, leaving ample time to check out the rest of the exhibitions in between.
You’ll find FLUX 2012 on Walker Street, Nelson Street, Elliott Street, and adjacent areas.
You can get to FLUX 2012 on bike (free bike valet on Peters Street), foot, via MARTA (Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station) or car. There’s $5 parking + free shuttle bus from the Brown Lot at GWCC; overflow parking in the Orange lot. If you park in the Centennial Olympic Park area, you can catch the free shuttle at the southwest corner of Centennial Olympic Park Drive and Marietta Street.
