“a 1927 silent film at the Fox just isn’t my thing.” Here are a few reasons to reconsider:
- “The General” stars Buster Keaton, and the film will be accompanied by Clark Wilson on the Mighty Mo organ. That’s cool. And truly, how often do you have the opportunity to see a silent film on the big screen?
- Plus, you can go for nearly free, thanks to an offer that just landed in my inbox. You can get up to four tickets for free + Ticketmaster’s $0.75 fee for each. If that link doesn’t work for you, here’s a link to the online version of my email. The “order ticket” link in there brings me to the same “complimentary tickets” order page on Ticketmaster; there’s a chance it’s a cookie on my side though, so let me know if it works or not.
“The General” will play at the Fabulous Fox on Tuesday, August 10, at 7:30 p.m.

Thanks for the great deal, but I don’t think the link to the tickets offer is working.
I’m trying to find a workaround…just updated the links again; maybe one will work.
I think it’s working now…just tried both links in a new browser, and they take me to complimentary ticket pages.
It worked! Thanks for this. I teach film and my students have to watch “The General”, so this is really cool for me.
I’ve never seen a film at the Fox, nor a silent with organ accompaniment, so I’m pretty excited!
p.s. you do have to pay a $3.20 processing fee, but this is still cheaper than buying the tickets through half off depot.
Yay! Glad it’s working. It’s showing up at $0.75/ticket for the fee when I try it…odd. Either way, it’s cheaper than buying them at the box office. Have fun!
The $3.20 fee is a processing fee at the end. The tickets were .75/each, and then Ticketmaster slapped on the fee at the very end. I didn’t see it until after I paid, but I still got two tickets for under $5. I was going to buy them from Half Off Depot for $4 each, so this was still a better deal.
Oooh…not nice. I didn’t test it through to the end.
