Planning to see Billy Crystal’s 700 Sundays when it comes Atlanta from Dec. 16-20? If you haven’t already bought tickets, you have two options to go on the cheap:
1) You can win your way in. I have five pairs of tickets to give away for the Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, 8:00 p.m. performance. To enter, just post a comment in this thread (one per person, natch). You have until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, to enter. A random number generator will choose the winners.
2) If you don’t win, you can still save on tickets. As is, tickets start at $30. But if you prefer to sit as close as possible, you can save up to $15 on orchestra seats.
If you’re not familiar with the production, it’s an autobiographical two-act play performed & written by Billy Crystal, with additional content by Alan Zweibel. I’ve heard snippets, and it sounds both hilarious & poignant. The title refers to the number of Sundays that he was able to share with his father, who died when Billy Crystal was a teenager.
The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Pkwy, Atlanta.

The funny thing is, last year at our multi-generational family Christmas dinner I said, “We always have such funny stories, we should do a play of all the holiday dinners over the years!” I didn’t know Billy Crystal was stealing my idea!!

My Mom who just turned 80 on Sunday the 13th. She Loves Billy Crystal. This show would make her Birthday week complete. His humor is insighful into the lives of us all. He always makes her smile. I would love to see her laugh and be happy during this time of her life. Please make this happen for her!
During these troubled times, laughing is the best diversion. I want to take a friend that has been looking for a job for over a year and is running through all her savings. She needs to laugh.
