The Atlanta Opera just posted an deal on its Facebook page for Aida, offering 30% savings on tickets. The catch? You need to order 10 tickets or more by December 31, 2009, to get the discount.

If you can spring it, it’d make a good gift for the members of your writing group, book club, quilting circle, or moms’ group. If you can’t, make plans for a night out & save on tickets.

Not familiar with it? Verdi’s opera tells the story of Amneris, an Egyptian princess, who intends to marry Radames, the next leader of the Egyptian army. The only problem with her plan is that Radames is in love with Aida, an Ethiopian princess who also happens to be an enslaved prisoner of war. When Amneris finds out about the relationship, she sets out to destroy them both.

Aida will be at The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre from February 24-March 10, 2010. The Cobb Energy Centre is located at 2800 Cobb Galleria Pkwy, Atlanta.
