Dinner & an ASO Concert for $35 per Person, October 22-24

Posted By admin on October 17, 2009

I always get a little nervous when I go out to eat before a concert or theatre performance. I know I should get out in plenty of time to make it to the show, but I always feel a bit rushed. This dinner & a concert deal would be perfect for someone like me:

For $35 per person, you can get dinner and an Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert on Oct. 22-24. The dinner portion will be a three-course buffet-style gourmet dinner at Fanfare, which happens to be located on the balcony level of the Woodruff Arts Center. Since it’s just steps away from Symphony Hall, you can enjoy a leisurely meal & linger until you absolutely must take your seat.

I’m fairly skeptical about the deal side of dinner & a show promos, but this one is a bargain: The dinner alone is regularly $23 when you make reservations in advance & $25 at the door. And while I’m not certain which tickets you’ll get, the prices range from $20-$75 for the concert.

As for the concert, you’ll hear an overture to “A Midsummer Night’s Dream;” Canadian violinist James Ehnes performing melodies from Korngold’s 1940s’ movie scores, including “Juarez” & “Anthony Adverse;” and Strauss’ “Sunrise,” best known from the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey.”

To get the deal, call Russell Wheeler at 404-733-4807 or email russell.wheeler@woodruffcenter.org. The offer is not available online or at the box office, and it expires on October 23 at 3:00 p.m. Dinner service begins at 6:00 p.m. and the concert starts at 8:00 p.m.
