And be sure check the calendar for the latest deals.I mentioned this when I posted about the free summer music mix that Stanford University is giving away on its iTunes U page, but it bears repeating: I’m a geek, and this is one of the coolest freebies around.
On iTunes U, you can download all sorts of free materials—lectures, PBS shows, music…the possibilities are endless. Kris at Honolulu on the Cheap just posted a general note about the free iTunes U downloads on Cities on the Cheap, but I thought I’d dig a bit to see what’s available in the Atlanta area.
First up: itunes.emory.edu—they have everything from a lecture by the Dalai Lama to conversations with Alice Walker (a perfect complement to the “A Keeping of Records” exhibition that I told you about yesterday).
At gsu.edu/itunes, you’ll find tracks covering everything from the history of jazz to a forum on childhood obesity to globalization & business practices.
I’m shocked that GA Tech isn’t on iTunes U yet. Seems a bit behind on the tech side of things…don’t see UGA on there, either, or KSU.
Still, there’s ample material available on iTunes U, and it’s free.
